What embed code formats are available?
A.
The Limelight Video Platform provides three embed code formats to accommodate different publishing platforms and use cases. These formats are:
| Format | Definition and Use | | Website (Javascript) | The javascript format (as seen in the console as "Website") is the preferred method for materializing a player on a page. This code will auto-detect the viewing device, delivering video to both Flash enabled devices and HTML5 enabled devices (e.g. iPhone and iPad). Publishers should use this format for standard webpages that can handle javascript. |
| Blog (HTML) | The HTML format (as seen in the console as "Blog") is an alternative approach to materializing a player. It should be used in places where javascript embeds are typically unsupported, such as blogs. |
| Link (URL) | The URL embed code (as seen in the console as "Link") is a way to materialize a player in a blank pop-up window. This is useful for inserting video links into blogs and emails. |

How do I generate an embed code?
A.
From the 'Channels' tab, select the channel from the 'Channel List' in the upper left corner of the application (a channel must be published before an embed code or link can be generated). Select the 'Embed Code' button then select the desired player from the dropdown list. You can toggle between 'Website', 'Blog' and 'Link'. Finally, select 'Copy' to copy the code for the channel/player combination.
▶ Q.
▼ Q.
What is deep linking?
A.
Deep linking allows viewers of your video to share directly to the video. If deep linking is enabled, the player will immediately jump to the actual video that was shared rather than starting playback with the first video in the channel. Deep linking is an option that can be applied to any embed code or link. When you generate a code or link, it will be ON by default however you can turn it OFF by unchecking the box.
